Camp 54

[This] morning was dark, but we got out, got breakfast, packed up, and started on our way before the fog cleared and the sun came out. The stream by that camp, like the last, opened and sprang up at the last earthquake.

We traveled all day and reached Oakland [tonight], opposite San Francisco. We camped and the Professor and I went into town.
